My name is Binki Shapiro, and I play in the band Little Joy. In an effort to raise money for the relief efforts in earthquake-devastated Haiti, I’ve rallied a bunch of artists to contribute custom-made artwork — t-shirts, tote bags and other personalized items — for the Crafts For A Cause auction. All proceeds will go to Artists for Peace and Justice, an amazing charitable organization founded by my dear friend Paul Haggis.
One item up for auction is the infamous “Shapes” painting from Parks and Recreation’s “The Camel” signed by Aziz Ansari, Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, Paul Schneider, Nick Offerman and Chris Pratt.
It’s official: Betty White will host NBC’s Saturday Night Live on May 8, WNBC News announced Thursday morning.

Now available in the iTunes Store: Wild Girls Gone, an Upright Citizen Brigade feature movie starring Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, Ian Roberts and Matt Besser. It’s $9.99 to buy; $2.99 to rent.
Here’s a plot summary:
Watch the Wild Girls Gone trailer! In the Spring Break capital of White Sands, Florida, Sheriff Terry Moran (Matt Walsh) outlaws the town’s world famous Ass Contests in a bid to win the elderly votes in his campaign for mayor – even though he is married to the town’s former Ass Contest Queen, Doreen (Amy Poehler). Unhappy with how her husband and her town is changing Doreen breaks out of her bored drunk housewife existence to recapture her youth and sabotage her husband’s campaign. Meanwhile Stevie (Ian Roberts) a video store clerk and aspiring documentary filmmaker gets goaded into making a movie about Spring Break by his scheming stoner friend Ray (Matt Besser). But Stevie’s loft ambitions for a documentary about human behavior are constantly derailed by Ray’s offensive behavior, shady connections and criminal acts.
They’re talented. They’re loveable. They’re hard-working TV thespians. Yet they don’t always get the credit they deserve. Here are 10 (seven, with three Honorable Mentions) out of the many TV stars that are often underappreciated.
Amy Poehler – In addition to Tina Fey, Poehler is another funny lady and Saturday Night Live alum that has found success after SNL, though that success often goes unnoticed. Poehler currently stars as Leslie Knope, an over-enthusiastic deputy director of Parks and Recreation in a small town on, well, NBC’s Parks and Recreation. And although Fey became popular impersonating Sarah Palin, Poehler has Paula Abdul, Dennis Kucinich, Sharon Osbourne, Dakota Fanning and Michael Jackson under her belt, thank-you-very-much.
This VIP card gives you exclusive access to the investment opportunity of a lifetime. Where? Multipurpose room F. When? 3 p.m. Dress code? Black tie optional. Just like life.
Though Knope Knows is and will continue to be an ad-free site for Parks and Recreation fans, we have embedded a donation button through PayPal by which readers can help defray the cost of site operations. And, of course, any remaining balance will go towards prize contests and other fun stuff. Thanks!
