According to Nikki Finke, an LA Weekly columnist and publisher of popular entertainment blog Deadline Hollywood Daily, NBC will soon announce that it has picked up Parks and Recreation for a second season!
According to her sources, Finke predicts the network will make the announcement Monday during its upfront presentation to advertisers. No word yet on how many episodes will be ordered.

At this time, I want to congratulate the cast and crew of Parks and Recreation for producing an exceptional debut season and earning a spot on NBC’s fall schedule. Since the Pilot episode, the Parks and Recreation team has churned out hilarious material each Thursday, and wholeheartedly deserves to live past six episodes.
Lastly — and somewhat selfishly — I feel fortunate to run a fansite for a television show with such a dedicated and amusing audience. I’ve enjoyed operating this animal every day since inception, and tremendously enjoy reading your comments here on the Web site, as well as on Twitter and Facebook. So long as the show is on the air, I’ll continue to be your one-stop source for all things Parks and Recreation.
Congratulations, Parks and Recreation! We’ll see you again Thursday nights this fall.
