Nick Offerman has a small role in The Men Who Stare at Goats, George Clooney’s new movie about an experimental military unit trained to psychically kill goats. Nick tells The Herald-News that his role didn’t have a great amount of dialogue, but that he wouldn’t have traded it for anything:
It was an incredible lot of fun. George, Kevin and I, and nine other guys, were the platoon. We went through all these things… in fatigues. We sat in a classroom, we did yoga on a rooftop, we formed a drum circle in a quad, we did crazy mind-expanding dances lead by Jeff Bridges. I have a fun little scene with Kevin Spacey where he predicts my marriage is going to fail. … I was so glad I followed my gut and my wife’s advice, because working with George Clooney and his partner, Grant Heslov, who directed it, was amazing. It had a really fun, summer camp feeling.
At the end of the story, Nick also had something to say about Parks and Recreation, which last month was picked up by NBC for a full second season:
I could not create a job that’s more my dream job than playing Ron Swanson. When I heard I get to play Ron Swanson nine more times, I was so grateful.
