This weekend, friends in L.A. had a chance encounter with SNL alums Amy Poehler and Molly Shannon.
Here is Angie’s story:
I went to AOC really late for dessert and cheese. When I arrived, my friends Catherine and Nick said, “Guess who’s here! Amy Poehler.”
We spent the whole time going to the bathroom so that we could get a look at their table. When I got up to take a look, I also saw Molly Shannon.
The restaurant was closing, so we got up and left. When we got out, Amy and Molly were sitting on a bench in front of the restaurant. Catherine asked her husband, Nick, to go up and talk to them. Our husbands were both shy, so I said, “I’ll do it!”
I went up to them and said, “I never do this usually, but I was wondering if we could have a picture with you two?” They were both super sweet and told us to come over. So we took a picture.
We congratulated Amy on the new show, Parks and Recreation, and told them that we were twittering about them the whole night. Amy laughed at that. She LAUGHED at my joke! And then I gushed about her rap about Sarah Palin on SNL while she was 8 months pregnant and how much I laughed.
The conversation lasted for less than 10 minutes, but we were giddy like school girls who just saw the Jonas Brothers or something. It made our night and we were so appreciative about how sweet they were.
