As Knope Knows reported on March 28, Aziz Ansari will do stand-up at Bonnaroo, slated to run June 11-14 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Last time Aziz performed there, he had a run-in with the guys from Peter Bjorn and John.
Quotes Aziz, who ate “their” mashed potatoes”:
‘Those mashed potatoes are for us, they’re not for anybody else.’ I was like ‘No, they’re for everybody.’ Then they started beating me up.
To avoid further confrontations, Aziz says he’s got his bases covered:
I’ve hired the band Fleet Foxes to be my personal security team. They’re assessing all the threats right now, and if they sense a threat coming, they’ll just start harmonizing, and then I’ll know something is about to take place.
Other Bonnaroo comedy acts include Jimmy Fallon, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Todd Barry.
